Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Bureau refutes reports of possible investigation into PHU Lechmar

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has officially confirmed that it has not opened or registered any criminal proceedings against the Polish defense supplier PHU Lechmar, according to Polish outlet INNPoland.pl.

The Bureau’s written response contradicts allegations made by Anti-Corruption Action Center co-founder Vitaliy Shabunin, who claimed on social media in June that the company was under investigation over suspected corruption linked to ammunition supplies for Ukraine.

In an official letter dated June 26, signed by Acting Board Director Hennadiy Holovatsky, NABU stated that PHU Lechmar is not listed in Ukraine’s Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, confirming that no criminal case has been initiated against the company.

PHU Lechmar said it sought clarification from NABU as soon as the allegations surfaced, emphasizing that the Bureau’s response “leaves no doubt” about its legal status. Company spokesperson Karolina Szydło said the firm remains committed to transparency, continues to fulfill all obligations to its Ukrainian partners, and is prepared to cooperate with any audits, including those conducted by independent anti-corruption institutions.

The company also reiterated that every contract has been completed in full. Earlier, Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service confirmed that PHU Lechmar had successfully delivered all ammunition under contracts worth UAH 23 billion. According to Border Guard spokesperson Andriy Demchenko, the deliveries were completed as agreed, transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and procured at some of the lowest available prices.
