Russian Ammo Depot Close to Moscow up in Flames

Russian ammo depot near Barsovo, Vladimir region, is detonating following reports on social media that that the road to Kirzhach from the direction of Moscow has been blocked.
According to reports, the explosions at the military base began around 3:30 PM. The officials confirmed that it was a hostile drone attack that they reportedly neutralised.
“Today, in the Kirzhach District, two UAVs were neutralized by electronic warfare systems near the village of Pesyane. There were no damages or destruction caused by the drone attack. Special services are working on site. To ensure public safety, civilians from Barsovo were evacuated. They are currently located at an evacuation center and are receiving all necessary assistance and support,” stated Elena Karpova, head of the Kirzhach District administration at the time.
Governor of the Vladimir Region, Alexander Avdeev, also confirmed the incident:
“An explosion occurred in the Kirzhach District. Emergency services are on site.
More detailed information will be released later.
I urge journalists, bloggers, and residents to refrain from sharing any information about the incident until verified official data is available, for the sake of safety and compliance with regional laws. Violations may result in fines.”
Ukraine recurrently strikes targets in Russia, jeopardising the aggressor’s economy and giving Russians, many of who support the war, a taste of their own remedy.
In terms of Ukraine’s strikes on Russian territory, January 2025 was the month that the gloves finally came off. With Ukraine’s homegrown defense sector now rivaling any western nation and seemingly no US, German or French politician willing to risk uttering the long-standard and nonsensical call for “de-escalation”, Russia’s most important cash-generating assets are now vanishing at an almost daily rate.
